Inspector: Ogun monarch, 4 others
remanded in prison

ABEOKUTA — An Ogun State Magistrate’s Court
sitting in Ado-Odo in the Ado-Odo-Ota Local
Government Area of Ogun State has remanded a
traditional ruler, Chief Mufutau Obabiyi and four
others in prison for alleged attempted murder and
abduction of a Police Inspector, Mulero Joseph and
one Morufu Sumonu.
The traditional ruler, who is the village head of
Alapoti community in Ado-Odo/Ota Local
Government Area of state, was arraigned along four
other persons before Ado-Odo Magistrate’s Court by
the Police on a three-count charge of conspiracy,
felony and kidnap.
According to the charge sheet, Chief Mufutau
Obabiyi, Chief Erubami Saheed, Saka Yakubu ; Saka
Iyanbo, Afisu Oke, also known as Surutu, and
others still at large September 16, 2012 at
Kofunlerin Village in Ado Odo/Ota LGA of Ogun

Confab: Beware of Nigeria’s
enemies, Yuguda warns

BAUCHI—As Nigerians prepare the groundwork for a
National Conference, Bauchi State governor, Mallam
Isa Yuguda, yesterday, cautioned against allowing
those who do not wish Nigeria well to participate in
the confab.
The governor, who spoke exclusively to Vanguard,
warned that those who were gearing up for Nigeria’s
disintegration and disharmony among the different
ethnic nationalities should not be allowed to have
their way during the discussion.

Yuguda said that although President Goodluck
Jonathan meant well by convoking the dialogue,
well-meaning Nigerians must be on the alert to
ward off tribal warlords and ethnic jingoists, who
would want to use the platform to campaign for the
advancement of narrow interests at the expense of
national integration.
