Congo: We will clip Eagles wings
Congo Coach Claude Le Roy has told Nigeria to forget about qualifying for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Congo and Nigeria seem to be locked in a titanic battle to claim the second qualifying ticket to the 2015 AFCON as South Africa appear to have daylight between them and their rivals in the race to be among the 16 teams who will grace the biennial event.

Congo are three points clear of the Super Eagles, who they host in a crunch cracker on November 15, with the likelihood of either of the two feuding teams bidding farewell to next year’s AFCON.
A Congolese win or draw will hand the advantage to the Brazzaville boys while a n Eagles win will take the contest to the final round of matches on November 19. And speaking in a brief interview with Radio France International, the French-born tactician said that his boys were primed to make history by ending Eagles dream on November 15.
Recalling how his team shocked the Nigerians 3-2 in Calabar in September, Le Roy said that he was sure that his team would claim the scalp of the Eagles, who he added have not been convincing in the qualifying series.
“I am sure that we will qualify for next year’s AFCON because we are not going to lose at home to Nigeria. I am confident that we will beat Nigeria, which will guarantee our place in next year’s AFCON.
“The magic for us was beating Nigeria in Calabar. That result was so crucial for us and we are not going to let our effort go in vain when Nigeria come to Congo”, added Le Roy.
