2015: ‘Ondo APC won’t impose candidates’

Despite the defection of members from other political parties, the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Ondo State, at the weekend, insisted that it will not impose any of those that defected on the foundation members of the party as candidates in the 2015 polls.
The state Chairman of the party, Hon Isaac Kekemeke, while presenting the party’s form to a former Finance Commissioner in the state, Chief Tayo Alasoadura, said a level-playing ground would be given to all aspirants.
Meanwhile, another chieftain of the party in Ondo, Lucky Ayedatiwa, has slammed successive administrations in the state for the neglect of the oil producing communities of Ilaje/ Ese-Odo areas despite being the economic base of the state.
Ayedatiwa said that while majority of the communities in the area live on water, the people do not have potable water.
He spoke in Igbokoda, headquarters of the local government, during his official declaration for the Ilaje/Ese-Odo federal constituency seat.
Meanwhile, Kekemeke said internal democracy would take priority in choosing candidates for the party in the 2015 polls, saying nobody will be imposed in any of the 18 council areas of the state.
“ All our aspirants will prove themselves as a level-playing ground would be given to all of them’’, the APC boss said.
He said the influx into the party in Ondo State was an indication that it will sweep the next year’s polls and the 2016/2017 governorship election.
