N’West PDP group asks Jonathan to sack Mu’azu

Some stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party in the North-West zone in Kaduna on Wednesday asked President Goodluck Jonathan to sack the party’s acting National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, for incompetence.
They said the continued crisis between the PDP senators and the Presidency was as a result of the inability of the chairman to resolve the matter amicably.
Besides, they said that the political instability in the zone and the North-East would consume the party ahead of the 2015 elections, if not properly handled by a competent leader like the ex-National Chairman of the party, Dr. Bamanga Tukur.
The leader of the stakeholders, Alhaji Ibrahim Suleiman-Zango, said stopping the National Chairman at this point in time was the best thing that would happen to the party ahead of the 2015 general elections.
The “chieftains of the party who met on Monday in the state capital, Kaduna, also believe that the massive defection of members of the PDP in the National Assembly to the opposition party, APC, was as a result of the incompetent leadership of Adamu Mu’azu to reconcile aggrieved members of PDP,” he said.
He stated further that the planned defection of more PDP legislators in the National Assembly from the North to the opposition APC was aggravated by the inability of the acting National Chairman to initiate dialogue and resolve the crisis before it could affect the chances of the party in the 2015 general elections.
He also cautioned the President to, as a matter of urgency, return Tukur to his position as the National Chairman, “if not, it will cause Jonathan to lose the presidency in 2015.”
“Bamanga Tukur is the bona fide chairman popularly elected and recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission,” he added.
Meanwhile, a member of the House of Representatives, Bamidele Faparusi, has said that President Jonathan deserves no vote in Ekiti in the 2015 general elections for abandoning the state.
Faparusi, who is seeking re-election into the Ekiti South Federal Constituency 2 stated this while submitting his nomination form at the APC secretariat in Ado-Ekiti.
