Task force allays fears over rumoured arms consignment to Fulani community
Jos —The Special Task Force, STF, keeping the peace in Plateau State has allayed citizens’ fear over the purported rumour that a helicopter and 13 Toyota Hilux vans carrying arms and ammunition had arrived Mahanga, a Fulani community in Riyom Local Government Area of the state.
There had been tension in the state since Monday evening, following the unconfirmed report of alleged arrival of the weapons.
However, reacting to the issue, both the STF and the leadership of Fulani in Mahanga said there was no iota of truth in the story.
Both the STF Commander, Major-General David Eniete and Chairman of the Riyom chapter of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, MACBAN, Isa Abdullahi described the allegation as unfortunate.
